As I sit here with a cup of hot lemon water, I’m counting down the days until I return to Rutgers. Only one week remains until I must go back for my third year of college. I already feel like this entire summer is a blur. What even happened in the last few months?
This summer has been one of my best. My dream of visiting China finally came true after being accepted into a cultural exploration program with one of my best friends from high school literally the day after we submitted our applications.
Then I flew straight to Indiana for a community service convention where I was expected to participate in meetings, workshops, and projects while I was still jetlagged from China. I could barely stay awake but I did what I had to do.
A few days later, my family decided to take a mini-vacation to upstate New Jersey and I tagged along with them. Only because I knew there would finally be time to rest and relax.
After returning back to work for a short while, it was time to go away again before I even knew it! And once again, the trip was completely unexpected. My decision to attend Leadership Academy was very last minute. So back to Indiana I flew! And thank goodness I went because my decision to go did, in fact, change my life in addition to starting a new chapter in my life journey.
I wonder what my third year of college has in store for me. I can’t wait to find out! I sure hope it turns out to be a good year.
