“Have you ever become obsessed with something? Tell us about something that captivates your attention like nothing else.” -The Daily Post
When I was in middle school, I wanted a dog really really badly. I knew I didn’t stand a chance of getting one unless I could prove that I was mature enough to handle the responsibility. I began researching every dog breed and eventually came to the conclusion that I wanted a papillon. After that, I did an unimaginable amount of research on them and even put together a fairly large book, of sorts… and come to think of it, I don’t think my parents ever got to read it.
My hopes of getting a dog were quickly shot down and met with comments of disapproval. Not only was my mom unhappy with my new obsession but I was getting lectured by my grandma and pressured by my one aunt to stop forcing this it on my mom since I knew she doesn’t like animals.
I remember I was so upset. I had spent so much time researching papillons and it seemed like there was no hope anymore. Until one day, I had a new idea. I wanted an interactive pet but no one ever said it HAD to be a dog. So then I thought:
Birds! And my new obsession was born.
