As a child, I used to watch television shows like Jackie Chan Adventures on KidsWB. I used to be fascinated by the magic that the mystical creatures possessed. Part of me wanted to have all of their powers and abilities except I wanted to use them for good instead of for evil.
To be specific, in Season 4, there was a series of nine “Oni Masks” which granted each wearer the ability to summon a unique tribe of Shadowkhan which were warriors that could rise up from the shadows and obey your every order.
Each mask contained the spirit of one Oni General and if all ten masks were brought together, they would shatter and release the Oni Generals engulfing the world in a never-ending era of darkness. Or something like that.
If I couldn’t have them all, I would want the mask in the bottom left-hand corner. It summoned the minikhan shadownkhan. They start off as these small cute little blob things and get bigger as they eat more shadows. I just remember thinking they were really cute even though they were kind of destructive…
My powers through magic are the ability to eradicate disease and hunger throughout the world. Hopefully, this would enable me to make the world a better place. Much love and naked hugs!

nice! Thanks for the intro to these masks – how have I never heard of that series? I got two kids and neither ever watched it. Happy New Year!
Well I don’t know how old your two kids are but I’m 18 years old now and this was a show I used to watch when I was 8. Season 4 aired on TV in 2003 when I was in the 3rd grade. Glad you found it interesting! I believe episodes are available for purchase on iTunes if you think your kids would like to watch them. Have a Happy New Year! 🙂
