2025: The Year That Swept Me Away (and Where I Am Now)

Can You Believe We Are Halfway Through 2025?

Happy 4th of July to all my fellow American readers. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Outside of the traditional significance of the holiday, July 4, 2025, also marks the halfway point in the year. With 365 days total, day 183 lands on July 2 in non-leap years, so July 3 or 4 is right in that mid‑year zone!

Where has all the time gone?

On that note, I’d like to address just that! From the emails I’ve received, I know some of you noticed I haven’t been posting as much recently. I never planned to be away this long. Every month that passed in 2025, I kept telling myself I’d sit down to post something—even just a quick update. But life has a way of sweeping you into its current, and suddenly you look up and realize it’s been half a year! šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

So here we are.

A Life Update After 6 Months Away

The truth is, the past six months have brought a lot of change—personally, professionally, and creatively. I’ve been riding the wave, doing my best to stay afloat while trying to navigate it all in a way that feels true to who I am and where I want to go. And honestly? That’s been harder than I expected.

In 2025, I’ve experienced so many new beginnings:

  • Starting a brand new fully remote job
  • Moving into a new apartment & furnishing it
  • Building my own YouTube/podcast home studio
  • Putting myself back on the dating market after a long time away
  • Rebranding and restructuring my other Mindset for Success business
  • Adapting to a world with increasing prevalence of artificial intelligence

The Internet Is Changing—Fast

The internet isn’t what it used to be. Blogging—once the go-to space for long-form storytelling and self-expression—has evolved along with how people consume content. Today, readers have more options than ever, with AI tools and short-form videos reshaping how we share and discover stories online.

Is blogging dead? In my opinion, no.

Is blogging different? Absolutely. No one can deny that.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT and Gemini have changed how people seek out information; everything is instant, bite-sized, and hyper-optimized. Meanwhile, platforms like TikTok and Instagram continue to dominate the attention economy with fast, flashy, short-form content.

It’s made me pause and ask myself: Where do I fit into all of this with my travel blog? As someone who thrives on storytelling and deep reflection, how do I adapt to this new digital landscape without losing the essence of what I love? Will people still take the time to read my posts?

I don’t have all the answers yet. But I’m exploring.

New Chapters, New Beginnings

Moving & New Remote Job

In March, I moved to a new place. That alone was a big shift—new space, new energy, new routines. Not long after, I started a new job, which has been both exciting and demanding in all the right ways. Balancing that with everything else life has thrown my way hasn’t been easy, but it’s reminded me of my resilience and how much I’m capable of when I fully commit.

Single & Ready to Mingle

Somewhere along the way, I also began putting myself back out there and dating again. It’s been an exciting and eye-opening experience, helping me better understand what I want and how I want to show up in a relationship. It’s a process, but one that’s felt meaningful and full of possibility. šŸ’ž

Building Something of My Own

One of the most personal and challenging undertakings this past year has been launching my own business. Taking the whole concept to market is still very much a work in progress, and I won’t pretend it’s been easy. It’s called Mindset for Success. It’s a platform I’m building to help people achieve greater success in working toward their goals by tapping more deeply into the subconscious mind. šŸŒ€

But building something from the ground up—something that reflects my vision and values—has been deeply meaningful. It’s teaching me patience, grit, and the importance of showing up even when no one’s watching.

If you know of any groups looking for a speaker, I’d greatly appreciate any referrals!

Building Something of My Own

In addition to moving in March, I’ve had to find time to furnish my new place. I’ve also carved out a section of my unit to use as a YouTube/podcasting studio. It’s still ā€œunder constructionā€ but it’s nearing its final stages. I’m excited to put it to use once it is all ready.

I’ve been told I should dabble in the video space for a while now, but I always wanted to stick exclusively to blogging. I’m open to exploring different mediums for content creation so I suppose I’ll test this out and see how that goes.

What’s Next?

Honestly? I’m still figuring it out. But I do know that I miss writing here. I miss the kind of slow, thoughtful reflection that blogs make space for—something deeper than a caption, more lasting than a story that vanishes in 24 hours.

So consider this a soft return. A quiet ā€œhey, I’m still here.ā€

Life looks a little different now, but the urge to create, connect, and express hasn’t gone anywhere. If anything, it feels more important now than ever.

Thanks for sticking around—even through the silence. I’m excited to see what’s next.

The journey continues! šŸ—ŗļø
