Happy Easter Everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone!

As you can see from the photo above, I’m 99% sure I’ve decided on what college I want to go to. Of all the schools that I’ve been accepted to, Rutgers seems like the best choice because for one, it has the best name recognition outside of New Jersey. Rutgers has a huge alumni network, is filled with countless opportunities, and is pretty affordable for in-state residents. Plus, I’ve heard some of my best friends in the world will be going there too which makes it a little bit more appealing even though I was very anti-Rutgers at first.

I’ve just been scared because my whole thing with college is that I only want to go to a school where I know I would be inspired by intelligent, ambitious, and likable people. Sure, Rutgers will have those party-people but as long as I keep to myself and take challenging courses, I am confident I can find the more academically focused kids too. With such a large student body, I’m sure I’ll find my niche somewhere.

Sure, it’s no “Harvard” but as long as I work hard during my next four years, I can always try aiming for those big name schools again when I’m applying to graduate school instead. And even if that never pans out- how important is it really? It’s the person that counts, not the school. I just have to stay focused.

By the way, Rutgers Business School has an acceptance rate of 5%!!! That’s crazy! Thank goodness I was accepted. I’m excited!

Patience

Patience

Look at this bird. I spotted him on my house as I was getting out of my car and I couldn’t help but to appreciate his everlasting patience.

I wish I could be more calm and patient like this bird. There are only two days left until I hear back from my six dream schools! How can I stay calm when I’ll be finding out on March 28th what exactly lies in store for my future?

Ahhh it’s so nerve-wracking yet exciting and everything else! FINGERS CROSSED!!!

The Easter Bunny Made an Early Visit!

The Easter Bunny Made an Early Visit!

Yesterday, my family went to my grandparent’s house for Palm Sunday and along with the gathering, came a visit from the Easter Bunny who stopped by a little early and scattered five hundred Easter Eggs all across the backyard!

My two little cousins zipped all around grabbing handfuls of eggs at a time. Even with an entire yard full of eggs, the younger cousin INSISTED on running in the same direction as the older one. Hahaha you can’t separate those two…

I’m Deprived of Art

New Decor = New Realizations

My mother recently brought home the ceramic candle cover that can be seen in the photo I took (view of the top). I stared and admired it as it sits on the bombay in our main hallway and thought about art for awhile.

Most high schoolers at some point take some sort of art, ceramics, or pottery class that allows you to use clay, paint, and other tools to create your own masterpiece. My high school lacks the funding and space to create a room for such a class so I haven’t had the chance to do anything like that since I was in elementary school.

It’s upsetting! Maybe I’ll be able to take a class like that as an elective in college?

Future Tense: March 28th, 2013 5:00 PM.

The time when a select group of elite colleges from the northeast will post admission decisions online for their Class of 2017.

I’m so nervous and excited all at the same time! I have a countdown on the dry erase board in my room. (And on my phone and on my planner). FIVE DAYS, PEOPLE, FIVE DAYS. Please oh please, let me get accepted into at least one of my dream schools. Please.
