Enjoying This Resort’s Ocean-Blue Infinity Pool

Swimming at the Westin Lagunamar

Spent all of the day yesterday around the resort’s pool. The infinity edge looks out towards the ocean. With the sun beating down on us, the water here is refreshing and kept at the perfect temperature. The pool is huge and has sections with built-in tiled beds that you can lay out and tan on – something I have never seen before.

I’m not really big on tanning myself but I thought that was a creative addition. If I had to choose between laying out on a beach chair or one that is semi-submersed in water, I think I actually prefer this!

I Can’t Stop Playing with Brookstone’s Sȧnd

I recently purchased Sȧnd from Brookstone along with their circular Executive Sȧnd Box. Sȧnd is composed of 98% ordinary sand and 2% special polymer. It is sold in a container that holds 2.2 pounds of the stuff.

The executive sand box only holds around 12 ounces of sȧnd so you’ll have quite a bit left over (as you can see in the image above.) That’s fine though because sȧnd never dries out. You can store the extra sȧnd in the original container or out in the open.

You’d be surprised how addicting this stuff is to play with. It has a very zen-like feel to it. It’s both peaceful and relaxing to play with. You can “pack it, pull it, shape it, and love it,” as the branding on the side of the jar explains.

If you asked me how to describe what it feels like, I’d compare it to wet sand at the beach. It has the same cool temperature and mooshy feel to it. You can cut designs into it with shaping tools (or a seashell if have one) and pack it into a castle, just as you would with real sand.

DSC00741 I know it’s kind of silly (my family makes fun of me for being so entertained by it) but it’s truly a lot of fun to play with when you’re just sitting around. I like to shape and mold the sand while my mind is busy reflecting and planning other things. I bought a container for myself and for my boyfriend so now if we put our sand all together, we can build a 4.4 pound sȧnd castle. How awesome! 😉

Happy New Year!

Wishing all of you a happy and healthy new year in 2016. May the new year bring much happiness and good fortune into your life. I hope this new year is as great as the last.

Hope You Had a Very Merry Christmas!

This year, I gave my little sister a new shower system (with filtration!!!) I’m sure that’s just what she wanted. Aren’t I the best gift giver? She’d certainly say so. 😉

She made her gift for me (which turned out to be an absolutely incredible photo album of our childhood) at around 2AM the night leading into Christmas so she had no choice but to wrap it in toilet paper since she couldn’t go downstairs for wrapping paper…

My mom unwrapped 2 lemons and 2 limes (all wrapped individually by yours truly. ^.^ ) But for good reason! I also purchased a fruit infusing water bottle for her. So now she can cut up the lemons and limes and make her first glass of flavored water with the infuser.

I think my dad is the only one who didn’t get a weird gift this year.

How was your holiday? Did you get any strange gifts this year?

Charging my Phone with the Christmas Spirit

I’m obsessed with one of my most recent impulse buys: a Christmas Light iPhone Charger! What better way to spend the time leading up to Christmas than by charging my phone with a cable that uses same lights I also string across my Christmas tree? That’s logical, right?

Now my phone will charge in the spirit of Christmas.

Also, you may have noticed my Manatea tea steeper in the background! Isn’t he adorable???

I decided to keep his name as Manatea.

I actually went on a tangent of random online impulse-buys around the time of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’ll have to share some of the other things I purchased once I muster up enough energy. In the meantime, sweet manatea will make me a cup of warm honey lemon tea for my throat.

Spending this Thanksgiving in ‘Turkey Pose’

Turkey Pose

Okay, it’s not actually called Turkey Pose – it’s Crane or Crow Pose. But on Thanksgiving, I suppose Turkey Pose sounds more fitting. After weeks on top of weeks of practicing my plank, I have finally managed to move on to Bakāsana (बकासन), a yoga pose I have wanted so badly to make available to myself ever since I was a senior in high school. I could never do it – until now! This Thanksgiving, I am truly thankful for my yoga practice and the personal goals it has helped me accomplish since I started practicing once again.
