That morning,\u00a0I was frozen. I stared at the date on the top of\u00a0my\u00a0phone. I could not\u00a0believe it was finally\u00a0June 12th. &#8220;Here we are, it&#8217;s today!&#8221; I thought to myself.\u00a0Today is the day we&#8217;ve waited so long for. Six months since Jorge\u00a0and I last last saw one another.<\/p>\n<p>One of the greatest challenges in\u00a0our relationship is the distance that separates us throughout most of the year. During those six months apart, I never felt like we lost touch which brought\u00a0me a great sense of relief after all of the fear I experienced\u00a0through\u00a0from being\u00a0separated from the person I\u00a0love. Knowing Jorge\u00a0was coming to see\u00a0me again for the summer meant everything.\u00a0I was overcome by thrill, excitement, and\u00a0even\u00a0a pang of anxiousness. Six months is a long time to go without seeing someone face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p>We were reunited at Newark Airport that evening. When he stepped outside the terminal doors, I was ready to\u00a0jump out of my car and run up to him. It was so surreal to be reunited\u00a0in the same place again.
