{"id":23695,"date":"2016-12-31T16:04:11","date_gmt":"2016-12-31T21:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/therockysafari.com\/?p=23695"},"modified":"2021-03-27T02:24:16","modified_gmt":"2021-03-27T06:24:16","slug":"chueca-boys-lgbt-madrid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/2016\/12\/31\/chueca-boys-lgbt-madrid\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are Chueca Boys: Touring the Gay Part of Madrid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After arriving to Madrid, I needed to navigate the airport, pass\u00a0through customs, pray my suitcase made it to Spain after first flying to North Carolina and Miami, and most importantly: <strong>find Jorge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding the corner as I left the baggage claim area to exit the airport, I kept my eyes wide taking in my new surrounding while searching for a familiar face. Jorge awaited my arrival with his carry on suitcase right outside the door. Our gazes locked and a warm embrace soon followed.\u00a0Comfort swept over my body as I touched his face. There\u00a0we were, together once again! We\u00a0took the subway to <strong>Chueca<\/strong>\u00a0where we searched for our first home: a cute little AirBnB kindly arranged courtesy of\u00a0Jorge&#8217;s family! Thanks to them, I&#8217;d get to spend more time with Jorge and see another section of Spain! Chueca is a super <strong>LGBT friendly<\/strong>\u00a0section of Madrid. I fell in love with our\u00a0home in Chueca. When we\u00a0entered, we first saw the living room. The house was in beautiful condition. Truthfully, it looked brand new like a home straight out of a showroom. On the wall in the kitchen was a large chalkboard with a message from the owner of the AirBnB.
