{"id":23553,"date":"2016-12-22T17:01:08","date_gmt":"2016-12-22T22:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/therockysafari.com\/?p=23553"},"modified":"2021-03-27T02:21:56","modified_gmt":"2021-03-27T06:21:56","slug":"spain-awaits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/2016\/12\/22\/spain-awaits\/","title":{"rendered":"Tonight, My Heart Races &#8230; Spain Awaits!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another semester, done!\u00a0What a great feeling it was to turn in my last exam\u00a0Monday morning knowing that I have but one semester left until I qualify for graduation. Insane, isn&#8217;t it? And what\u00a0a semester it has been!<\/p>\n<p><strong>I officially finished my major<\/strong> in psychology when I turned in my final research paper for Abnormal Psychology Lab. I also made a huge dent in my minor this semester by taking four core entrepreneurship classes <a href=\"https:\/\/therockysafari.com\/2016\/09\/18\/changing-my-major-every-year\/\">all at once<\/a>. The last 15 weeks have been action-packed between learning about marketing, finance, <a href=\"https:\/\/therockysafari.com\/2016\/12\/18\/wrong-about-accounting\/\">accounting<\/a>, and business. On top of school, I threw nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/therockysafari.com\/2016\/10\/13\/meet-your-new-mad-scientist-revolving-rocky\/\">30 birthday parties<\/a>\u00a0total for kids living all over the state of New Jersey every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>As busy as it may have been, I have no regrets about the work I took on this year. My\u00a0friendships, old and new,\u00a0helped support me through a major transition year in my life. Exactly 18 weeks ago, a person I care so deeply about was\u00a0torn out of my arms, forced to return home to his home across the world, in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>I never knew sadness\u00a0like I did in the days and weeks that followed.<\/p>\n<p>There is no particularly good way I have found to prepare for\u00a0the emotional battle that follows being separated from the person\u00a0you love.\u00a0Frustrated and confused after\u00a0that\u00a0unforgiving divide, I asked the universe why it had to be this way. Why us? Life together for the year we dated was so wonderfully comfortable. I coped with my boyfriend&#8217;s\u00a0departure by believing in a destiny. A belief that the universe wanted us to finish\u00a0college\u00a0strong, to focus on earning good grades, and to get our working lives in order. Why else would the world do this to us?<\/p>\n<p>I do\u00a0not know what the future\u00a0has\u00a0in store for us. It seems even know, we are still super confused\u00a0about what comes next.\u00a0All I know right now is that my parents are sending me to Spain as a\u00a0Christmas gift and I&#8217;m freaking out as the time nears. In a short while, I&#8217;ll be on my merry way meet Jorge.<\/p>\n<p>This is honestly the best gift I could have ever asked for.\u00a0My heart is racing! I can&#8217;t fathom that I&#8217;m <strong>actually<\/strong>\u00a0seeing him again!!
