Everything from profile pages, settings, and gestures are all <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the same<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the main difference between Tinder and Bumble is that on Bumble, girls hold the power. So you&#8217;re probably wondering if and <strong>how gay men can use Bumble<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Like on Tinder, two people first have to &#8220;like&#8221; each other before any match can be made.<\/p>\n<p>However, with Bumble, the\u00a0girl\u00a0then has to make the first move by sending a message otherwise no communication between the guy and girl can be exchanged. You&#8217;re not restricted by who chats first.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interesting! So in other words, Bumble functions similarly to Tinder for gay men and lesbians. The &#8220;girl talks first&#8221; factor is eliminated altogether leaving no real &#8220;advantage&#8221; to using Bumble for either group.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of my thoughts on this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/?s=relationship\"><strong>as someone who has used online dating apps<\/strong><\/a> and websites <em>and<\/em> had some serious, long-term happy relationships come from them.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>(Check out my <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/tag\/dating-a-foreign-exchange-student\/\">Dating a Foreign Exchange Student<\/a><\/strong> and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/tag\/long-distance-relationships\/\">Long-Distance Relationship<\/a><\/strong> sections to read about being in love abroad with a guy I dated for years and traveled with! We met through Grindr. I&#8217;ve also met guys on Tinder, OKCupid, Hinge, and other places. Also, my blog&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/tag\/gay\/\">Gay<\/a>&#8221; section has a ton of LGBT content you may also enjoy!)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Now, back to Bumble.<\/p>\n<p>Since the app eliminates the gender-focused &#8220;girls go first&#8221; rule for same-sex matches, essentially all of the unique aspects of Bumble <strong>no longer pertains to gay men<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-46459\" src=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating-1024x911.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"708\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"\/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=1024,height=911,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating.jpg 1024w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=300,height=267,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating.jpg 300w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=768,height=683,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating.jpg 768w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=284,height=253,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating.jpg 284w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=1070,height=952,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Bumble-gay-men-dating.jpg 1070w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 708px) 100vw, 708px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I think it is awesome\u00a0that Bumble&#8217;s team\u00a0recognized the reality that LGBT users would potentially download their app and they did their due diligence to incorporate these adjustments into their app&#8217;s design and functionality.<\/p>\n<p>Without that, gay men obviously wouldn&#8217;t be able to meet any guys on Bumble since neither man would be able to initiate a conversation with the other. Hahaha, that would be a total fail of a dating app. Back to Grindr we&#8217;d all go!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-46460 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.therockysafari.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/bumble-dating-app-gay-men.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"\/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=500,height=333,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/bumble-dating-app-gay-men.jpg 500w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=300,height=200,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/bumble-dating-app-gay-men.jpg 300w, \/cdn-cgi\/image\/width=284,height=189,fit=crop,quality=80,format=auto,onerror=redirect,metadata=none\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/bumble-dating-app-gay-men.jpg 284w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lesbians, on the other hand, would <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">both<\/span> be able to start a conversation and in that sense, again, Bumble wouldn&#8217;t\u00a0be any different\u00a0from any other\u00a0apps they already have access to.
