“The holiday season: can’t get enough of it, or can’t wait for it all to be over already? Has your attitude toward the end-of-year holidays changed over the years?” –The Daily Post
My attitude towards the holiday season has not changed much over the years: I still enjoy it and look forward to it very much. However, I do find it a little disappointing that final exams keep students away at college so late into the month of December. Exams at Rutgers go as late as December 23rd for some people and if they have to travel, that’s really cutting it close.
I’m surprised that you have final exams so late. At my college, there is no finals week. There is just 15 weeks of instruction. All classes are two hours and fifty minutes long, and they meet once a week. In addition, the last class is when finals are taken, if not before in some exceptional circumstances. Other schools, I know of start classes the last week of August, and, including finals week, they are done, the second week of December.
I think that sounds reasonable. I’m kind of curious why our university does it this way. I wonder..
