A lot of artwork is retouched as it ages for preservation purposes but sometimes I question whether or not that should be done. If the artist has passed, how do we know they are ok with that? Perhaps they wanted their original piece left as is no matter what. I feel like it’s no longer the real thing after we do our touch-ups.
