“If you’re like most of us, you need to earn money by working for a living. Describe your ultimate job. If you’re in your dream job, tell us all about it — what is it that you love? What fulfills you? If you’re not in your dream job, describe for us what your ultimate job would be.” -The Daily Post
Had you asked me this last week, I probably would have said either, “I’m not sure.” or “I want to be the CEO of a company.”
Then I realized my dream of becoming a CEO was flawed. It would be very difficult to make it to the top unless I started a company myself. Plus, lessons being taught in Rutgers Business School clashed with some of my core values. They were making me feel very “fake” to put it simply.
I did some soul searching and eventually realized that I want to go to medical school and become a child psychiatrist. (This is the story of how I figured that part out.) I can’t think of a better path for me to pursue! I love school so it’ll extend my education by a few years. It’ll be a bit more costly but then the average salary is pretty good. I want nothing more than to help people in need – especially children, so it should feel fulfilling. Plus, I can start my own practice and be the “CEO” of it just like I set out to be. 🙂
I’m so excited. I know stuff happens and people rarely become what they set out to become but I really really really want to see this happen. Fingers crossed.
This has nothing to do with you personally or your blog. It was just an unfortunate juxtaposition.
Before coming here, I checked my stats and found that someone had visited my blog off a Google search for “pornstar penpal.”
I’m pretty sure that’s not a paying job and you don’t seem like the type who would want to do it if it exists, but it’s what was already in my head when I saw your headline “money for nothing.”
(I try to leave memorable comments…)
Hahaha well that was certainly a memorable comment! And I’m actually cracking up because you ARE right. I can totally see how one might read the title like that. That’s great. xD
No one ever finds anything until the set out on a road. Bravo!
Great post. The personality test sounds brilliant!
Thanks! The MBTI is one of the best things I’ve ever paid for.
Now I have Dire Straits stuck in my head.
