Daily Prompt: Teach Your (Bloggers) Well

“We all know how to do something well — write a post that teaches readers how to do something you know and/or love to do.” -The Daily Post

Have you ever played the iPhone game “Flappy Bird”?

It’s a simple game with simple animation and simple rules. You play as a bird who is trying to navigate through a series of never-ending pipes. Each pipe has one small opening that you have to go through. If you hit the pipes, you die.

You tap the screen to make the bird go up.

If you don’t touch the screen, the bird will fall. And fall fast.

It’s the type of game where it’s very easy to get a score of 0 because they make it so EASY to die. But because the game is so simple, it’s EXTREMELY addictive.

My sister’s high score is 8. My dad’s score is 5. My mom’s score is 0.

Somehow or another, I’ve been getting the hang of it. The game definitely has a bit of a learning curve with getting through the pipes safely. As of right now, my high score is 25!

I think the secret is that you have to be patient. If you get too anxious, you’ll tap too quickly and the bird will hit the top of the pipe. Try letting Flappy fall more than you’re comfortable with, tap ONCE, and you’ll probably get through the pipe. Stay calm and never tap twice in a row if you’re close to the pipe’s opening.
