“Write about anything you’d like, but make sure that all seven colors of the rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — make an appearance in the post, either through word or image.” -The Daily Post
I wasn’t sure what direction to go in at first but I eventually decided to list the colors, what they represent, and one corresponding thing I hope to improve on in 2014.
Red (Love): I have a crush on a kid from my college who I’m 99% sure is also gay and I’d really love to see it go somewhere! I sent him a little note right before the fall semester ended but I never heard back. One of two things might have happened.
1. He got the note and doesn’t feel the same way so he threw it out and didn’t reach out to me.
2. He left to go home before he got the letter. In that case, he’ll see my note when he returns. (I hope).
Orange (Widom): I want to make more senior friends at college most likely through my job. They have valuable insight into college life and it could make for a fun conversation while at work.
Yellow (Happiness): To be honest, I’m already really happy with the way things are! As previously mentioned, the only thing that would make me any happier is if my crush got my note and reaches back out to me!
Green (Balance): I’d like to try to get more sleep next semester. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the number of daylight hours during the winter but only getting 5 hours of sleep a night is starting to wear down on me. I can handle it with no problem during any other season… but not in the winter.
Blue (Peace): I want to become friendlier with my floor-mates. It might be tricky since I’m so different from them but I want to start over. Regardless of my efforts, I’ll never quite “fit in” because their friendship revolves around partying, drinking, smoking, and getting girls.
Indigo (Self-Mastery): I want to be more productive. Between homework, studying, blogging, and free time, I really have to step up my time management or I will fall behind. Next semester will be even busier so there’s no time to waste!
Violet (Spirituality): I want to meditate and do yoga again. I miss both so much!
A very innovative method to remain focused throughout the year. Every time you see a rainbow flag, you’ll be reminded! Nice going! 🙂
Hahaha, good one! Where’s Indigo in the flag?
Haha it’s the fine line between the blue bar and the violet bar. You have to squint a bit, but don’t worry, it’s there! 😉
Really? I don’t see it! 😛
Clever. Thoughtful. Well done!
