Daily Prompt: Cliché

Clichés become clichés for a reason. Tell us about the last time a bird in the hand was worth two in the bush for you.” –The Daily Post

I honestly can’t think of too many examples where this applies to my life. I suppose it could possibly relate to my senior year internship situation. I have a paid unpaid internship (which you can read about here) and while everyone tells me to quit and get a new internship, I almost feel as though it wouldn’t be a smart move. I only need this internship until I graduate which is only a few months away. It has already been approved, I am “supposed” to be getting paid soon, and my boss is nice. That’s a pretty good deal… Would I really consider leaving to find a better job? What if the new boss is more strict? What if the pay is less and what if it turns out that eventually my original boss really was going to give me the money he owes me? I don’t want to be greedy when I’m already in good standing despite the possibility that I am being scammed.
