“Write about anything you’d like. Somewhere in your post, include the sentence, ‘I heard the car door slam, and immediately looked at the clock.'” –The Daily Post
(…Wish me luck with this one…)
Knowing that tomorrow was going to be my first day of work, I prepared everything I would need the night before. I laid out what I would wear, I organized my laptop, books, and papers, I even prepped the lunch I would bring. I showered and made sure I was in bed by 10 PM sharp so that I would get my full eight hours of sleep by the time it was 6 AM and time to get up and get ready. That night, I slept solid. I dreamt about my boss being incredibly pleased with my work. He was in the middle of praising me when all of a sudden I was forced awake. I heard the car door slam, and immediately looked at the clock. I OVERSLEPT. My mom was home from work; she gets home at 12! I can’t believe I overslept. My first day of work. 6 hours late. My life.
